Hi everyone and greetings from Florida. It has been a very trying week, but I think Dad is finally being transferred to assisted living. The doctor released him this evening and he should be transferred first thing in the morning. His new address will be:
Robert Rutter
C/O LaCasa Grande
6400 Trouble Creek H105
New Port Richey, FL 34653
I have arranged for a telephone, 727-845-0353, but we are having trouble with the jack so he will have his cell phone 727-267-0561. The land line is easier for Dad to talk into, will let you know when it is available.
Tommy and I are leaving in the morning for The Hard Rock Cafe and Hotel in Orlando for him to sign the original bass he used on Rock Around the Clock back in 1954. Everyone is very excited (including yours truly). Cheri and Jim are down and helping make the move for Dad go smoothly. I don't know what I would have done this past week without them.
Dad is in good spirits and looking forward to being in a room of his own with his own recliner, TV, DVD player and his own bed! Hope he likes the food better than he did at the rehab!
Will let you know if there are any changes. Take care, Cathy (Mom to my kids)

Charlie and I had a good trip home the trees and bushes in South & North Carolina were beautiful.
We had a great Easter with our family.
Scott had check up in New York last week and he is doing real good. The tumors are almost all gone except the ones on his lungs they are shrinking but not as fast as the other one. The doctor said that is because they don't grow as fast either. He may have to be on the medication for the rest of his life because when you stop taking it the tumors start to grow again.
The medication is an anti rejection drug so there are a lot of people on it for life. I know he doesn't want to do that but he realizes he has to.

I am still receiving recipes for our recipe book. I will receive them at recipelady@hotmail.com all summer. I ask senders to please put in the subject line - "your name, Central Park Recipes". This will stop me from deleting the message with all the other junk that comes in.

Pictured is Keith Mangus about to unload his airboat into Lake Hester and spray for hydrilla and algae with a product called Sonar. We are also adding about 10 grass carp - a type of fish that eats only algae and hydrilla. They grow to about 30 pounds and are sterile. You cannot catch them using traditional fishing techniques and even if you did they are no good to eat. Our lake should be a lot cleaner this winter due to the application and the addition of the fish.

Just wanted to write and let our Florida friends know that Carl Ure (Lot 308) and Jake Ure's (Lot 312) sister Susie White passed away this morning. We just celebrated her 80th surprise birthday party a couple of weeks ago. She has had many health issues over the last few years and after a week in the hospital, her heart and lungs couldn't take anymore. Susie & her husband Jerry were Winter residents for a few years in CP2 and continued to visit us in the Winters in CP1. They were here this Winter and came to one of our pancake dinners. She will be missed so much by her family. Linda Ure

The picture in the margin was taken Aug. 12 at Jessie Riffle's daughters farm. We had gone there to just visit after we had dinner at the Amish Door. We were all treated to ice cream and Jessie interviewed us all so we would tell what was happening to us all this summer. There were stories about everything from new grand babie s to new knees. Thanks Jessie for all the effort you put into these reunions for us. You sure do a great job!!! Dick & Elaine Green 08/13/09

Titles and Decals Rate Increase
Attached is a PDF of the new fee schedule effective 09/01/09 for 2009-2010 for Titles and Decals as issued by the Polk County Tax Collector. The rates have dramatically increased across the board and we wanted to share the information with you accordingly. It is our understanding that the fee increases are being driven by revenue shortfall to supply basic services and not by the tax collector's office or any municipalities. Should you have any questions, please call 863-419-3177, the Haines City tax collector office.

A plea to all my Canadian Friends.
This year I am going to try and do a Hockey Morning in Canada theme for the Canadian Breakfast.
Just wondering if anyone has anything they could bring along to share for decorating. We will still use the Canadian flags on the table etc. This would just be a little extra touch.
Keep in touch.

Hi FL friends,
Dalton and I are really happy that Molly King and Terry Todd are at Terry's cottage on a lake near us. We have been getting together for cards, golf, eating out, etc. at least once a week. I'm with Judy Love about the weather. We have had very little heat. The garden did great though.. Some folks around here have already headed south. We won't leave until after Thanksgiving. I have to do at least
one holiday.
See you soon.
