Liar's Club
As you can see this season has already started with the Liar's Club.
Each morning at 8:00 the guys meet at the hall for coffee.  They call it a Social Club but I think only the ones who tell the biggest lie can join!  "They tell me if anyone tries to tell a lie out they go and are
not allowed to return.  What a big one that is!   HUH Ladies????

Exercises Started
Exercise class has started already.  The class is really small yet.  By the first of the year the hall will be filled up with people.
Shirley Atkins usually is there also but today she must have slept in.
Exercise class starts at 8:45 week day mornings.  Jessie Riffle leads the class.  Come join us and get moving early.
*****************************************************************
Shuffleboard Begins
The shuffle courts are mighty slim yet also.  Today we had 2 courts.  It won't be long before all 8 courts are filled up.  We hope to have a great season again this year!  So come join the shuffle crowd.
Shuffling is every week day morning at 9:30.  John Conway is our shuffle head man.  If you have any questions see him.
****************************************************************
We are very slowly getting more people in the park.  It seems much slower than normal this year.  We have had several deaths in the park this year and several with illnesses.  That makes a difference also.
We are planning another Thanks-giving Dinner again this year.  The sign up sheet is up, so be sure and sign how many will be attending on your lot number.  You do not have to put what you will be bringing.
Just be sure to sign up so I know how many turkeys to order.  Then bring your own table service and a covered dish.  Yes you do have to put something in the covered dish besides a lid.   HA! HA!  It seems that we always have a good variety of food.  So come and join the lunch at 1:00.
*******************************************************************
I received word from Bob Rutter's daughter Cathy that Bob is in Rehab for complications from his poor circulation.  They are hoping that the rehab will help him recover.  It seems that he developed a sore on his foot and the doctor had scheduled a wound care appointment for him.
Before that happened Cathy was there and when she saw the pain Bob was in she took him to the care center but by that time gangrene had set in.  They ended up having to amputate the left leg below the knee and they are now looking into getting him a prosthesis.  He will be in Rehab
and when he is discharged he will be going to Cathy's.   Bob lived in
our park on lot 147 and then bought over in Central Park II.
There is an e-mail set up for Bob.   Cathy will print the e-mails he
gets and take them in to the Rehab Center. The     e-mail is :  rcrutter1919@tampabay.rr.com .  For those who are not online, the address is: Robert Rutter, Consulate Health Care of Bayonet Point, 8132 Hudson Ave  Room 602D,
Hudson, FL  34667
Either Cathy or I will try to give you updates.  I have given her the web page for the park so she can contact you directly if she so pleases. I know that  Bob has been a resident of the park for a great many years so right now he can use a lot of uplifting e-mails from his bingo and card playing buddies.  I know that we can perk him up with whatever upbeat messages that you can think of to send.
                  Thanks a lot,   Mary Ann
********************************************************************
We were at a park wide yard sale and happened to come upon some people from Central Park 1 pushing a baby stroller with a baby in it.  I thought it was quite strange since there were no children in the park at the time.  Low and behold it was Harold and Kay Turner.  Not sure if Harold is trying to tell Kay something or Kay is trying to tell Harold something!  But what a cute baby they have!!!!!!!
******************************************************************
Just a note to let you know Dads room has been changed to 508W.  Same facility, better room mate.  Thanks for keeping every one informed.  I have printed up e-mails and taken them in to Dad.  Thanks again, Cathy

******************************************************************
Art Bishop had his shoulder rotator cuff operation last week and was back to see the doctor on Thursday and had all of the staples removed.
The operation started out being done arthroscopy, but they had to make a much larger cuts.  He is doing some therapy at home but will be getting more in the weeks to come from a therapist.  We hope to head south the first week in January.
Snow is due to arrive here this weekend and I am not looking forward to doing all of the shoveling.  Oh well I will be just getting in shape for the shuffling.  Alinda Bishop

Don't forget to sign up for the Thanks-giving dinner.  It is at 1:00 P.M.

Also if you have not signed up to have your pictures taken for the park directory do so quickly.  We only have 16 openings for the December pictures to be taken.  If you want some pictures to Christmas gifts they will be back in time for that also.  So hurry and sign up otherwise you will have to wait until February.

The park is certainly filling up now.  This week several people came in.  It looks like Central Park once again.

Soup started this week, Bingo has started and Pancakes are this week also.  We are already throwing Darts so come join us.  Guys are playing pool and there are always several playing cards every night.  So come join in on the activities.  Everyone is always welcome!!

Hi everyone:

We are now proud grandparents of a new granddaughter.  Her name is Annika Suzanne and she weighed 7lbs.11ozs and19 1/2" long.
She arrived on November 11th, 2008.  Denis, Jennifer and Annika are all doing well.
We are spending as much time as we can before we leave for Haines City.
Our son Denis started back to work yesterday, however, not doing the same job as before.
His hand is doing well but will require more surgery in time, when, we do not know as yet.  Hopefully not over the winter while we are gone.
Vince and I are leaving Nov. 28th and looking forward to seeing our second family.
See you all soon.
Love  Pauline & Vince

The craft class made these table decorations for our Thanksgiving Dinner. They will be given away as door prizes.  Maybe you will be one of the lucky winners.

Park Directory
The photos are coming out great for our Park Directory.  Everyone seems to be really pleased with their pictures.  No one has complained about anything.  No one has been high pressured to buy more pictures that I have heard tell of and I have talked to several of you who have had them taken.  So if you know of some one who has not set up an appointment to have pictures taken send them to Lot 265 or call Joyce Conway at 863-419- 9332 or my cell phone # is : 765-914-0516.  Life Touch will be back in the park on February 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th to finish up taking pictures.
*I want to especially thank those who filled in for the cancelations when someone called and couldn't make their appointment.  Some of you only had maybe 1/2 hour notice and you still made it for the appointment.  THANK - YOU!
Joyce

*Hi Joyce,*
*They have changed Bob Rutter's room number again.  It is now 507W.
From what Cathy said, they are working on getting his stump ready for the prosthesis and are thinking that he may be able to be discharged from the Rehab by the end of December, if all goes well.  He has a good attitude and is very co-operative so that will help a lot.  I think the
cards and e-mails have been very good for him.  Thanks so much.   Mary Ann
*************************************************************
It is important to get up on Saturday morning for coffee and doughnuts at the hall.  You never know what you are going to see.
****************************************************************

Today at Liar's Club there was a guest.  Keith Doughty's son, Kenny, drove him down for the season and they invited him to visit the  club.
I am sure he learned a lot today!  I hope they didn't warp his mind.

Here's a poem for all those snow birds that haven't gotten here yet.

*It's winter up North
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At twenty-five below.
Oh, how I love it in the North
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes,the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave these Northern parts 'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!

Neil Case, Joyce Zimmerman and I visited Bob Rutter on Thursday.  He is doing well but the stump of the amputated leg is not fully healed so that they can fit his prosthesis.  It is shrinking fine but they will not fit him up until every bit of it is healed.  He is still undergoing therapy so that he can relearn balance and to keep his muscles active.
Since they knew we were coming, they did all his therapy in the morning.  We were able to have lunch with him in the family room that they reserved for us and after lunch we were able to play some pinochle.  I think he really enjoyed that.  Since it is such a long drive, he doesn't have many visitors so he can still use some cheering up with a line or two from friends and residents who enjoyed playing cards and bingo with him.  No one is sure how long he will be in the Rehab so please say a prayer or two that he heals quickly so he can get out of there.  The address is still the same:
       Robert Rutter
Consulate Health Care of Bayonet Point
       8132 Hudson Avenue    Room 507 W
       Hudson, Florida   34667

He thanks everyone for all the cards and e-mails and appreciates the thought and concern for his well being.  If and when I hear any further
news, I will let you know so you can post it on the web site.     Thanks,
                                                              Mary Ann

We woke up this morning to 29 degrees.  On our way to the shower Denise said it was 27 degrees.  Either way it is mighty cold for Florida weather.  It is only to be a high of 54 today.  Well so much for the weather.
On Wednesday afternoons at 1:30 we are having Wester Square Dance lessons in the hall.  Come join us and get warmed up!
Square dancing is good exercise and lots of fun besides meeting so many new friends.  See you there!

Talked to Bob Rutter the other day and he said that they are satisfied with the healing and are getting ready to fit his prosthesis.  He sounded upbeat.  He said that I may give out his phone number for anyone who might want to call and talk to him.  It is  727-245-1493 * *He is out for therapy some of the time but let the phone ring 7 or more times so he has a chance to maneuver his wheel chair to reach the phone.  Molly has also posted the phone number in the hall for anyone to see who is not online.  I know he appreciates every ones efforts on his behalf.  Thanks again.  Mary Ann   1/25/09

Bob Rutter has now been transferred to:
       LaCasa Grande
       6400 Trouble Creek  -  H105
New Port Richey, FL 34653  Phone will be 727-845-0353

He was doing well and was at the point of moving to the next level.  Cathy found this place for him.  It is closer to her and he will continue to get his therapy at this new location.  He will have a room of his own.  The family came down and got his bed, dresser, TV, lounge chair and some other incidentals.  When he reaches the point that he can handle himself, he will be free to leave the facility.  When I last talked to him, before he moved, he sounded very upbeat about the move.  He will be eating his meals in the dining room there and is not allowed to cook or eat in his room.  When he is ready to go out on his own, he has planned already for a chair and the carrier for it to be installed on his car.  He thanks everyone for the messages and prayers and thinks of everyone.  He enjoys recalling all the "adventures" that he had in Park I and Park II.  When he got to the new facility, he was having trouble with the phone line.  They were supposed to replace it.  I have not been able to get in touch with him since that move so when I hear more, I will pass it on.     Thanks Joyce.   Mary Ann

Bob Rutter update:
Bob's phone is working and he likes his new "home".  He has meals in the dining room at a table with three other people.  He says the food is good and he is really enjoying it.  Guess that means more weight!!!!  Warned him not to enjoy it too much for it will be harder to get onto that leg with too much weight.  He is now wearing it for up to three hours at a time.  He gets therapy three times a week and seems happy with everything. (A big plus)  Will be happy to hear from any who would want to call.  Sounds like things are moving along for him......it's been a long time so he was ready for a change and a more forward looking mentality.  Thanks for posting his updates and for the cards and notes that people are sending.    Mary Ann

As we celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary today we are feeling so blessed by God to have made this milestone.
We are thankful for so many things among which are our family and friends and what they mean to us.

Ruby Guspyt will be celebrating her 87th birthday on July 13, and we'd like to shower her with notes and cards.

After her 10 month bout on hospice in 2007-2008, we are so thankful she is still with us and we treasure each special occasion we can creat in her life.

Please feel free to send cards to her at:

John has been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer.  The doctor thought it would be too risky for surgery with his heart condition.  So he will be having hormone therapy and radiation.  He now has sympathy for all of us women with hot flashes because he has them now.  He will start radiation treatments July 14th.  He will be having 40 of them; they will be 5 days a week for 8 weeks.

I don't email for days and then 3 in a row.
Well here goes.
I went to see the surgeon today for my hiatat hernia and he suggested doing an upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and stretching the hernia back into the stomach.  He says this usually works better than surgery.
Hope he is right as I am having this done on August 18th.

It seems as though Joan and Myron are staying busy this summer.  I received this note from them.  She said they have visited Wendell and Doris Malcolm and they are doing pretty good.  Doris and Wendell were in
our park and lived on or around lot 262.

They are both well. They  had the grandson here for the weekend - daughter and her husband went away for the weekend to celebrate their anniversary.  Looking forward to a week at Mont Tremblant with both our son and daughter and
their families.  I am sure we will all eat very well and enjoy a lot of cards and games.  The chalet has a pool table, dart board, ping pong table and other games as well - should be a lot of fun for all.  Myron is keeping busy with other people's vehicles and is presently working on a 32 foot RV - gives us more reason for not wanting one!
***************************************************************
John Amspacher, Charley Angel's brother in law, who lives on lot 266 will be going on chemo. Please keep him in your Prayers.

I received this note from Judy and Charlie Angel.  Scott is their son who has had cancer before.

Scott was sick last week with a high fever. The doctors first thought he had pneumonia but he didn't respond to the antibiotic. His doctor then sent him to the hospital in New York City on Sunday, they  found out the medication he
was taking to shrink the tumors is no longer working. They want him to try Chemo again to see if that works.  He is home they will do the treatments here. He goes to see the Oncologist on Friday to see when they will start. He is very run down
and is trying to get his strength back before the treatments start.

Judy & Charlie
Please keep him in your prayers.  We also need to keep the whole family in our Prayers!

News from the North
Hi Joyce
Just wanted to let you know that I spoke with Marie Case and Ruth Johnson this AM.  Marie is doing well, was having her nails done as we spoke.  She said it sure is quiet in CP1 when she gets her mail.  Everything looks good and seems to be holding together in the park, so far this year.  She had spoken to Carol Gibbs and she is still having headaches and has to take her time to get around.  The Drs. can't seem to figure out what is wrong.

Barbara Hamilton lost her friend Andy(he was in the park two seasons ago. He loved to go down by the lake and sit and smoke his pipe.)   She also lost her dog Barny.  Marie wasn't sure of exact date but it was a couple of months ago this happen.  They passed away within days of each other.

Ruth has sold her trailer in Wisconsin and is living in a senior community. She said she really loves it there.
She has had some tests done, but needs to get the stint out that was put in last Oct.  She hopes to head for Florida sometime in Oct.

I was able to get in early to have my procedure done. The surgeon stretched the esophagus and I am having no trouble at all now.  Sure glad that worked.  I did ask if he could stretched me tall enough to compare to my weight. ..No such luck.  Dave has only driven truck a few weeks in June this year.  Things are really slow.  He still is busy helping the boys and doing some of his work...that has waited for years.  If all goes well for us we plan to leave for Florida around the 16th of October...God willing.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Pray for Kim
We are asking all our friends and any others to pray for our Associate Pastors wife Kim, she is also one of our church secretaries.  Bill and Kim were in Alabama on a 25th anniversary trip when she became ill.  Bill brought her back as fast as possible and she was put in the hospital on Wed. and later that day was put in ICU.  On Thurs. morning they airlifted her to St.Johns in Springfield to ICU.  Her liver, kidneys have failed and her blood pressure bottomed out.  She is on a ventilator and receiving dialysis at this time.  The doctors are doing tests for viral and bacterial infection that they think got into her bloodstream.  We had about 400 people in our church this morn. for a special prayer service.  We are praying and believing for a complete recovery for Kim.  Also keep her husband, three sons, daughter-in-law, future daughter-in-law and her parents in your prayers also.  You can check on her condition on Facebook  kim-burry-updates.  May God bless each one of you and thanks for you prayers.

JoAnn Feldkamp

The 7:00 P.M. update on Kim.  The primary concern remains to be Kim's kidney though the doctors are still unsure as to what the underlying source is to the problem.  Brcause of the multiple organ complications she continues to be in critical state.  Keep praying!!!

This is an update on Charlie and Judy Angel's son Scott.
Scott had two units of blood on Saturday (9/19/09) because he is anemic.  He is feeling much better since they did that. He is half way finished with his chemo and then they will do a CT Scan to see if it is working. If not then they will have to do surgery.
Please keep him in your prayers. 9/24/09

Shirley Bready had her surgery and is home from the hospital and is doing pretty well.  She says she is on pain medication and antibiotic but is doing pretty well.  She says George is doing real well also.  Let's still keep them both in our Prayers!   9/27/09

Don't have finalized funeral plans yet but it will be a graveside service by Lake Lillian at the Baptist cemetery along side my Dad and baby sister.

HI!
John has gone to the Dr. and is now released to go to Florida.  He got really good news about his PSA count.  He will have to have another PSA done in 3 months.  He can do that in Florida.  So we will be on the road bright and early Monday morning.  We are going to visit our son in Virginia for a couple of days.  Then on to Ashville, North Carolina to the Biltmore Mansion for a couple of days.  We are just going to take our time and sightsee on the way down.  So please hold all email to me until further notice.
                           THANKS!                        Joyce and John  10/07/09

This is an update on John Amspacher on lot 266.
John will have another treatment on the 19th then they are going to do testing to see if it has helped to reduce the size of the tumors. So we still have him on our prayer list at church. After the testing we should be able to make a decision on our plans for Fl.    Please lets all keep John and Charlene in our Prayers also.  I know John is really wanting to come back to Florida.

Joyce,
The kids were here for dinner today for our Granddaughter Tuesday's birthday. She is 16 now and has her learners permit to drive.  Her brother Chase told everyone to stay off the roads.
Scott is totally exhausted from the chemo. He was doing good the first few weeks of his treatments but I guess it is catching up to him now. His doctor said the one type of chemo will bring down his red blood cells and that is what makes him anemic and so tired.
After next Friday they will do a CT Scan to see if it is helping to shrink the tumors. Just keep him in your prayers.
Thanks, Judy

Many of you know my father, Charlie Guspyt, from many years of he and Mamma (Ruby) being in the park.

5 years ago after his passing, it became a passion of mine to write a book about my father, compiling stories, comments, memories, phrases of his, your interactions with him, etc. from the various people and arenas of his life.

I would love any long or short emailings that come to mind about my father, and your contribution would be greatly appreciated.

It can be emailed to me at gloriaguspyt@yahoo.com as timely as you can.  Hard copy can come to me at:
7148 State Route 36, SE        Gnadenhutten, Ohio  44629 for any of those not on line that you might pass this along to.

Since I do hope to get this book published, I'll also need a note with it that I have your permission for this printing of your thoughts.

The title is My Daddy's Shoes, and I'm compiling who thought or experienced what with this profound man, as I wondered who'd be filling my Daddy's shoes the day after he passed.

Thanks to all; I truly appreciate your support and contributions in advance of your mailings.
Gloria Guspyt

This is unbelieveable, but the broom is standing by its self.  Oma Ruff called this morning and ask if I had a broom.  She told me to stand it in the middle of the room and it would stand up by its self.  It has something to do with the gravity of the earth right now.  Give it a try and let me know how many could get it to stand up.  You may have to hold on to it for a few minutes at first.  My broom has been standing in the kitchen since 8:00AM 11/5/09.
